All American Life League’s Rob Gasper calls out the National Catholic Registers attack on Catholic Church teaching. NCR has been endorsing this idea that Catholic teaching should be changed to accept the modern culture’s new view of sexual behavior. The Church has spoken loud and clear on this issue many times over. It’s time to call an end to these continued attacks.
The King’s Men Formation originally started in 2006 back in “Philly” (Archdiocese of Philadelphia). This formation caught my attention from both the web presence and the appearance of the founders on Life On The Rock a show on EWTN (Global Catholic Network). The formation of the King’s Men was happening shortly after my journey began back into the Catholic faith. As many do, I began a lot of reading of the Church Fathers and also trying to understand the state of the Catholic faith within the secular culture. The King’s Men stood out strong for good reason. Catholic negativity dominates the MSM (main stream media) but yet we see a strong shining light emitting from this awesome formation bound and determined to stand strong for the faith in which we believe. As a middle-aged man looking for answers I could relate to the message being conveyed by these guys. A message in which planted that mustard seed that I hope and pray is finally taking root.
When I finally inquired more about the King’s Men years later I was dismayed to learn that there was not one single formal meeting taking place in the Southern California area (home to 12 million people). Hearing the call, I took a deep breath and shot an email to the King’s Men for assistance. By the Grace of God there was other men in the area that had that same call of duty. Following the instructions from the King’s Men we successfully started our first meeting at St. Terese parish in Alhambra, California.
Our goal is clear. We hear the call and response to the universal call to unite and build up other men in the mold of leader, protector, and provider through formation, healing and action. Men’s formations have come and gone. What makes the King’s Men different is that we are here to commit ourselves to become strong men who lead, provide, and protect in the mission our King (Matthew 28:19, Hebrews 13:7).
We have started our first group in Alhambra at the St. Terese parish. God willing and with your help we hope to start other groups in the Southern California area. Currently we are pursuing parishes in Orange County. If you are interested and have questions please send an email to email@example.com.
